Ruling By Other Means is an important book that explores the dimensions and contexts in which the state mobilizes movements in order to achieve its goals. Edited by Grzegorz Ekiert and Elizabeth Perry from Harvard University and Xiaojun Yan from University of Hong Kong, this project brought together international scholars to advance the research agenda on the topic of state mobilized movements. As part of this research collaboration, Danijela Dolenec and Daniela Širinić published a chapter entitled Mobilizing Against Change: Veteran Organizations as Pivotal Political Actors.
